She was the beloved wife of Richard D. Gonzalez PhD whom she married and shared a life of scholarship travel and devotion until his passing in 2022. Together they built a life grounded in intellectual curiosity faith and deep affection for one another and for the world beyond their home. Born on January 6 1932 in Chicago Illinois she was the beloved daughter of Luigi and Onorina Lucietto whose emphasis on heritage discipline and education helped shape her enduring devotion to languages tradition and cultural understanding. A devout Catholic throughout her life Lena was guided by her faith in all that she did. Ruth Jean Fultz Hatke age 90 of Lafayette was born on August 3 1935 to the late Aaron and Leota Reece Fultz. On August 18 1956 she married the love of her life Richard Dick Hatke. Their marriage was a beautiful example of devotion partnership and enduring love. Dick preceded her in death on August 3 2025 at the age of 92. Though they did not have children of their own Ruth and Dick shared their love generously with their familyespecially their nieces nephews and greatnieces and nephews who held a very special place in their hearts. Ruth was deeply devoted to her family and was always willing to help others whether it was taking loved ones to doctors appointments or caring for nieces and nephews over the years. Ruth was both spirited and gentleshe was a yellleader at Monitor High School yet known for her quiet and kind nature.…
