Vaughn Allen Twedt was born on January 8, 1943, in Story City, Iowa, to Virgil and Alice (Ritland) Twedt. Although he was given the name Vaughn at birth, he was known throughout his life as Allen. Allen passed away on May 13, 2026, after sharing 62 loving years with his wife, JoNann. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and farming.Allen was baptized and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland, Iowa. He grew up in rural Roland, where he attended school and graduated from Roland High School in 1961. Allen was athletic and a very talented basketball and baseball player during his school years. As a senior, he was honored to be chosen king of his class. More importantly, he was remembered for his honesty, strong work ethic, and the respect and kindness he showed to others. Marian “Molly” Hudson, passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on April30, 1932, in Dubuque, Iowa.Plans for a Celebration of Life are pending at this time. When those plans are in place, a noticeand invitations will be forthcoming.Molly was the daughter of Greek immigrants, and the youngest of six siblings, two boys andfour girls. She noted with gratitude that her family’s support allowed her to move to DesMoines, start a job at the Des Moines Register, where her boss, Bob Hudson, introduced her toBruce, his brother and her future husband.Molly and Bruce raised three boys as Bruce’s jobs took them from Des Moines to Appleton,Wisconsin, and ultimately to Ames, were Bruce joined the ISU Memorial Union in 1963 andadvanced to Managing Director. He grew up on a farm and graduated from Kanawha High School in 1964. Following graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served until 1968.After leaving the Marines, Roger moved to Ames, where he met his wife, Nancy. He spent his entire career working at the Animal Disease Lab, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.Roger had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing the lakes, rivers, and ponds around Ames and throughout Iowa. Whether casting from the shore or spending the day on the water, fishing brought him peace and happiness for many years.
