Maxine Mardelle Julius passed away surrounded by family on March 31, 2026 at the age of 97. Born on February 26, 1929 in Powell, Nebraska, Maxine lived a life rich with family making sure to care for those she loved and keeping the family together. She spent childhood on the farm enjoying the orchard and her four sisters and a brother.Visitation will be held at Bethesda Lutheran Church on April 10, 2026 at 10am followed by Service at 11am. Burial will occur at Ames Municipal Cemetery following the service. Arrangements are in the care of Adams Funeral Home.She met her husband Marvin Julius while working as a teller at the local bank in Palmer Iowa. They were married on June 22, 1947 and enjoyed over 70 years together before his passing in 2018. Willie Ross Lykins, 75, of Story City passed away on March 30, 2026 in Story City. A Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday April 9th at 10:30 am at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial with military rites will follow at Center Cemetery in rural Story City. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church.Willie was born on August 24, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa to Stanley B. and Rose (Matheason) Lykins. He graduated from Story City High School in 1969 and was drafted in the United States Army. While serving in Vietnam, he received a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. After being medically discharged, he married Sylvia Barrow on June 1, 1973. Willie worked at Iowa State University for 40 years.
