Brenda Darnell Hurst Lawson widow of Thomas D. Lawson passed away on July 1 2026 at Highlands Regional Hospital. Brenda was born to Getrude and Luther Hurst on August 12 1948. Brenda married Tommy when she was fifteen years old and became an important part of the Lawson family where she was considered a daughter more than a daughterinlaw and a sister more than a sisterinlaw. Brenda earned her GED then later her degree in nursing. She spent many years as a beloved skilled nurse at Our Lady of the Way in Martin Kentucky and at McDowell Hospital in McDowell Kentucky. Brenda was a very outgoing person who loved life and had many friends. She also had many struggles after her husband her children her parents and both of her siblings left this earth before she did. Even in extreme grief Brenda could always find something to laugh about and…
