Helen Louise Lister McDonald Fryman 95 went to be with her Lord on Thursday May 14 2026 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born March 3 1931 in Boyle County to the late Leon Lillian Worthington Lister she was a devoted homemaker and worked for several years as a substitute teacher. She enjoyed gardening and working outside and loved to grow things. Surviving are 3 sons Richard Amy McDonald Kenneth A. McDonald Chuck McDonald Pam Frederick 4 daughters Joyce M. Herb Booth Judy M. Kay George Shumate 87 of Paris wife of the late Clifford Wayne Shumate passed away Saturday May 9 2026 at Baptist HealthLexington. Born August 28 1938 in Nicholas County she was a 1956 graduate of Paris High School. Kay married Wayne Shumate on April 13 1958 and began her journey as a devoted wife mother and Nana. Her family was the center of her world. Kay was a gracious genteel lady and a joy to all who knew her. Surviving are 2 children Clifford Wayne Kim Shumate Jr. of Nicholasville and Sara Paige Shumate Dan Short of Paris 2 grandchildren Bryan Shumate Short and Kaylyn Bailey Shumate 2 greatgrandsons Bryson Shumate Short and Benjamin George Short and a brother Billy Clark late Ramona George of Carlisle.
