Margaret Ellen Forfa Peg Grimes age 74 of Greenfield Massachusetts passed away at home Tuesday August 4 2026 after a long battle with cancer. Born to the late Anthony Forfa and Nadine Mills of Great Barrington in October of 1951 Peggy graduated from Monument Mountain Regional High School in June 1969 and attended UMass Amherst. Throughout High School Peggy worked at Catherines Chocolates then after college at Phoenix Mutual before later turning to substitute teaching. Peg enjoyed bowling competitively with multiple perfect 300 scores on record was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years David Grimes two sons David Grimes II and Andrew Grimes as well as daughterinLaw Heather Grimes. John M. Crowley 83 of Conway MA passed away on Saturday August 8th 2026 at the Baptist Hill Road home where he lived for the past 42 years. Crowley as he was commonly called was born in Presque Isle Maine at the US Air Force Hospital on December 1st 1942 the son of Joseph and Patience Lyon Crowley. John was the second of their five children. His father a doctor spent most of WWII in England periodically supervising the transport of wounded vets from continental Europe to England then to the U.S. and back. As they followed their fathers career after the war Crowley and his four sisters were constantly on the move. First they lived in Brattleboro VT then in the northeastern coal mining region of Martin KY next in South Bend and last in Lafayette IN. Jenna was born on May 101998 in Greenfield Massachusetts and grew up in Erving. She attended Erving Elementary and was a 2016 graduate of Turners Falls High School where she excelled both in the classroom and on the athletic fields playing softball basketball and soccer. A standout studentathlete Jennas passion determination and love of competition were evident from an early age. She continued her education at Wesleyan University in Connecticut earning her bachelors degree while playing softball for the university. Joan attended schools in Millers and Turners Falls graduating from Turners Falls High School in 1952. She attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1955. She was proudly employed at the Farren Memorial Hospital until 1988 and completed her forty seven year nursing career as the evening supervisor at the Franklin Nursing and Rehab Center in Greenfield. Jolynn was born on April 7th 1981 in Greenfield to Michelle Sandlin and Joe Novak. She attended Erving Elementary and graduated from Turners Falls High School in 1999. Jolynn worked in the service industry throughout her life including Applebees in Greenfield for many years and most recently at the Steel Pub and Tap House in the Athol area. She also managed the Orange Roller Skating Rink preCovid and was the owner of Jumping Beans Bounce Houses.
