James Michael Carrow age 79 of Boyne City Michigan and formerly of Farwell Michigan passed away peacefully in Mt. Pleasant Michigan on May 14 2026. Jim was born on December 27 1946 in Cheboygan Michigan to James E. and Edith Birdsall Carrow. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a radioman from 19651967. Following his military service he returned home to Farwell where he worked alongside his father and brother at Carrows Supermarket. Jim lived a full and hardworking life and was deeply involved in his communities over the years. He earned his pilots license served as a volunteer firefighter helped establish the City of Farwell Police Department and also served with the Clare County Sheriffs Department. James Nichols 70 of Petoskey Michigan died May 13 2026 at home in Levering Michigan. He was born January 20th 1956 in Lansing Michigan to Ann Lycos Wilcox and Eugene Nichols. Jim or as his family called him Mike had a successful career in police work. He began his career after high school in 1974 as a Military Police officer in the United States Army. He served for 6 years traveling overseas to Germany. After the Army he continued his career with the Valparaiso City Police department as a Patrol officer. In the 6 years Jim served at the VPD he met his wife Kathy and they were married for 44 years. Jim trained to become a canine officer and furthered his career as a canine officer with United States Customs and Border Protection. He retired from there as a Customs Border Protection Canine Supervisor after 23 years of service.…

Dorothy Dodie Horan 94 of Petoskey Michigan was called to her heavenly rest on May 18 2026. Dodie was born Dorothy Ann Boening on December 12 1931 on her familys hardscrabble depressionera farm in Floresville Texas to Olga Kruse and George Boening Jr. She graduated from Poth High School in 1949. Dodie was a strikingly beautiful woman and was crowned as Floresvilles Farm Bureau Queen. After graduating from high school in 1949 Dodie worked as a bookkeeper at General Oldsmobile in San Antonio and she met and married U.S. Air Force Lt. Peter Ottimer who was stationed nearby at Lackland Air Force Base and attended Officer Candidate School. Dodie was honored as the 5354 OCS Beauty Queen in 1953. Jeffry William Dinner age 77 of Cheboygan passed away at home on May 6 2026. He was born on April 18 1949 in Detroit to William John and Audrey Irene Graham Dinner. Jeff grew up in Detroit and graduated from Cass Technical High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration specializing in Human Resources from Lawrence Institute of Technology followed by a Master of Divinity from Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam era and became a disabled veteran receiving an honorable discharge. He married Constance Schuman at Aldersgate United Methodist Church and together they shared three children. Jeff devoted his life to ministry serving numerous churches throughout Michigan including Paint Creek United Methodist Church Mt.
