David Boon Mallett III, age 83, of Lapeer, Michigan, died Thursday, April 2, 2026.David was born July 29, 1942, in Detroit to David B. Jr. and Treasure (Warner) Mallett. He graduated from Redford High School, class of 1960, then briefly attended Ferris State University. Dave married the love of his life Donna Lee Saylor on April 24, 1964, in Detroit. Dave’s career as a salesman spanned 30 years – he worked initially for Star Glove and then 22 years with Michigan Glove Company. He “retired” in 2002. Dave was passionate about law enforcement – he worked 20 years with the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Reserves and an additional 15 years with the Metamora Reserves. Dave also worked several years with the Lapeer Area Ambulance Service.
