Michael was born on June 30 1953 in the city of Chicago Illinois to Father John McKinney and mother Lutishia Wright. Michael was raised on the Southside of Chicago with 9 other siblings. He was raised with strong values of faith family hard work and perseverance. The principles that remained with him throughout his life. Michael attended Dunbar High School and following graduation enlisted in the United States Navy where he honorably served during the Vietnam War. After returning from the Navy Michael moved back to Chicago and had a daughter Twanna. In the 80s Michael moved to MN where he met his wife Earlene and welcomed her children Novell Jackson Douglas Jackson and Dionna Richardson as his own.
