Yolanda Azara Goltz 94 of Menahga Minnesota passed away on Thursday July 2 2026 in Park Rapids Minnesota. She was born to Maria Azara de Oliveira and Juvenal de Sousa Pereira of Belo Horizonte Brazil. Yolanda graduated from Scarritt College in Nashville Tennessee majoring in library science and served a few years as a missionary in Malaysia along with her husband Charles Goltz who she met in college. Later she was on the Plainfield IN library staff for many years. Yolanda loved to garden and do crafts and was active in the Plainfield United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents several siblings her husband and her daughter Sandra Siekaniec Thomas Siekaniec. She is survived by daughter Sonia Goltz Jim Northey along with two grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Laurence "Larry" Walz age 72 of New York Mills Minnesota passed away on Monday June 29 2026 at Sanford Health Broadway Campus in Fargo North Dakota. Larry fought like a true warrior battling pancreatic cancer for 5.5 years which is an absolute miracle. Laurence Walz was born on December 30 1953 in Portland Oregon to Cecil Wilson and Rosalie Walz Fraki. The family moved to New York Mills Minnesota in 1955 to live at Grandma Frakis house. At a young age Larry grew fascinated with machines teaching himself to fix them and thus beginning a lifetime passion. Larry attended and graduated from New York Mills High School as part of the class of 1972. To further his understanding of machinery Larry went to study at the trade school in Staples Minnesota.
