Carter, 73, of Macon, MO, passed away at her home on Thursday, May 14, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends.Shelley was born on May 2, 1953, in Brookfield, MO, the daughter of Kenneth and Leona (Green) Porter. She was united in marriage to Jerry Kenneth Carter on March 26, 1971, in New Cambria, MO. Shelley enjoyed cooking, gardening, antiquing, crocheting and sewing, crafts and scrapbooking, collecting Betty Boop memorabilia and cat figurines. She loved attending to her flowers and cats. Shelley was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.Shelley is survived by her son, Heath Carter and his wife Ruth of Trenton, MO; two grandchildren, Alexandria Carter of Springfield, MO, and Jerod Carter of Trenton, MO; and other extended family members.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Kenneth Carter, on March 28, 2025; one brother, Jerry…
