Philip Eugene HuyckApril 3, 1964 – April 1, 2026Philip Eugene Huyck, a man of service, skill, and an endless supply of dad jokes, passed away on April 1, 2026—just two days shy of his 62nd birthday.Born in Shawnee, Kansas, to Bruce Dewayne Huyck and Marlyce Jeanne Hirtes, Philip’s journey truly took root when the family moved to Spearfish, South Dakota, in 1974. It was there that he developed the character that would define his life: he earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from Spearfish High School in 1982.Following graduation, Philip answered the call to duty by enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served with distinction, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to his beloved Spearfish to work alongside his father at Huyck Diesel Repair.
