Carl August Hess III 85 passed away on February 11 2026 at Morristown Medical Center. He was born in Elizabeth NJ grew up in Verona and lived in Madison NJ for most of his life. After graduating from Verona High School he went on to obtain his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas and his Masters degree from Montclair State University. He worked as a teacher and elementary school Physical Education teacher and finally as a Guidance Counselor for the ParsippanyTroy Hills School District. Over the years Carls skill for soccer was acknowledged as CoCaptain of the 1957 State Championship Soccer Team and he was voted into the Verona High School Soccer Hall of Fame.
