James Newton Wilson affectionately known to family and friends as Jim Newt and Blade passed away on July 22 2026 at the age of 85 in Wharton NJ. Born on June 1 1941 in Brooklyn NY Jim spent his childhood in Montclair NJ where he developed lifelong friendships and a deep pride in his hometown. He enjoyed summers visiting his mothers family in Sandy Spring MD. Jim graduated from Montclair High School in 1959 and was a star athlete whose time included winning the NJ State Football Championship in 1957. He went on to Lehigh University where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering graduating in 1963. While at Lehigh he played starting safety in football and his team won the Lambert Cup in 1961.
