The family is sad to announce Bobbys passing on Saturday May 16 2026 after his courageous battle with cancer came to an end at the home of his cousin Tonya and Daniel Soule in Kent CT. Born on September 2 1956 in Sharon CT he was the son of the late Eleanor Hart Smith and James Smith. Bobs family resided in Sharon CT before purchasing and moving to the Bog Hollow Inn in Wassaic NY where he was a stellar bartender. He graduated Housatonic Valley Regional High School Class of 1974 and served in the United States Navy. Bob worked at Tri Wall Container Co. in Wassaic NY and later as a selfemployed painting contractor. Bob lived life to the fullest. Margaret Rena Russell 88 a longtime resident of Dover Plains NY passed away on Wednesday May 13 2026 at her home in Dover Plains. Mrs. Russell was a therapy aide at the Wassaic Developmental Center in Wassaic NY for 37 years retiring in 1993. Born on February 1 1938 in Lubec Maine she was the daughter of the late Carroll and Ida Davis Sawtelle. On June 29 1960 in Lubec Maine she married Richard D. Russell who survives at home. Mrs. Russell was an avid Bingo player and loved to travel. In addition to her loving husband Mrs. Russell is survived by a son Keith Russell and his wife Tina of Dover Plains NY. Mrs. Ward was a pediatric physical therapist who owned and operated Sensorimotor Connection in Millbrook NY. Born on April 17 1950 in New Haven CT she was the daughter of the late Carleton and Muriel Moffitt Treat. Mrs. Ward received a bachelors degree in physical therapy from Ithaca College class of 1972. On September 9 1972 in Oxford CT she married Thomas L. Ward who survives at home. Mrs. Ward was an avid tennis player and enjoyed swimming cross country skiing mountain biking and speed skating.
