Mohawk Shirley A. Mead 90 of Mohawk Town of German Flatts passed away peacefully on Monday August 10 2026 at her home with the love and support of her family by her side. She was born on May 26 1936 in Johnstown NY the daughter of the late Edwin and Elizabeth Wiltey Goody. Shirley was an excellent student and graduate of Johnstown High School Class of 1954. On June 11 1955 Shirley was united in marriage to the love of her life Joseph L. Mead at the Johnstown Reformed Church by Reverend Bream. They shared a loving and devoted union until his passing in 1996. Shirley was employed as a bookkeeper her entire working career. She worked at Johnstown Knitting mill Valley Window Company The Evening Telegram and retired from Oneida County Boiler Works in 2014 at the age of 78. Nelliston Richard J. Parker 75 of Nelliston passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Wednesday August 5 2026. He was born on December 23 1950 in Boston Massachusetts the son of the late Andrew J. and Marie G. Lahey Parker. Richard was a graduate of Marian High School in Framingham MA Class of 1968. He furthered his education at Bryant Stratton College in Boston MA where he was on the Deans List with an Associate Degree in Accounting in June 1972. Richard is survived by his sisters Joan P. Smehil and her husband Capt. Dean L. Smehil NOAA Retired and Susan P. Kessler and her husband Keith E. Kessler and several nieces and nephews.
