NundaDansville William J. Gross Jr. age 96 passed away early Thursday morning July 2 2026 at the Livingston County CNR in Mt. Morris where he had been a resident for nearly a year. Bill was born in Dansville on June 14 1930 son of the late William and Josephine Englert Gross Sr. He was a graduate of Dansville High School Class of 1949. He began his employment at the Great Atlantic Pacific Tea Company better known as the AP grocery store during high school. After school he enlisted in the Navy. Bill was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean War from 19501954. After the Navy he returned to the AP where he eventually became produce manager and worked for 29 years. On January 31 1959 at St. Marys Church in Dansville he was married to Evelyn Houghtaling Gross who predeceased him on October 31 2019. He was also…
