FULLERVILLE Mavis M. Cole age 83 of Fullerville NY passed away on Wednesday July 1 2026 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Mavis was born on July 23 1942 in Gouverneur NY to the late John H. and Louetta Lacy Backus. She attended school in LaFargeville and Gouverneur. On February 25 1961 she married Leo N. Cole at the Gouverneur Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley Brown officiating. Leo passed away on May 9 2007. Mavis had babysat for Mrs. Kingsley for many years until going to work at E.J. Noble Hospital in the laundry department. She and her husband enjoyed playing cards with friends going out dancing on the weekend and going to auctions. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
