Jimmy Fred Brown of Hudson passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory.Born July 2, 1940, in Burke County, he was the son of the late Fred Long Brown and Mamie Lunsford Brown.Jimmy was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife Gloria J. Brown of the home; his daughter Melena Brown Collins and husband Keith of Hudson; son, Stacey Darren Benfield and wife Melissa of Hudson; granddaughters Earin Corkran and Ashley Benfield both of Colorado; grandsons Eric Yount of Granite Falls and Holden Benfield of Hudson; brother Rick Brown of Hudson; sisters Carolyn Weaver of Hickory and Phyllis Howard of Rhodhiss.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Pastor Tommy Jones and Pastor Clyde Bumgarner officiating.The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church…
