Brent Alan McLean, age 41, of Lenoir passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in N. Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born on June 20, 1985, in Caldwell County to Annette Moore Woodring and Garland McLean. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian McLean; his stepfather, Kurt Woodring; and his grandparents, Dude and Jean Moore.Brent was a true jack of all trades who worked as both an upholsterer and construction worker. He never met a stranger and had a way of making people laugh wherever he went. He loved life, loved the people around him, and his goodbyes always seemed to linger just a little longer. Fredric Wayne "Freddy" Bowman

Fredric Wayne “Freddy” Bowman, 69, of Hickory passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Frye Regional Medical Center.Born January 15, 1957 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Wayne Kirby Bowman and Ruth Dietz Bowman Edwards.Freddy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, disc golf, and skiing. He was a man of strong work ethic, who started his own landscaping business after decades in furniture. More than anything, Freddy enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, Leroy and Fisher.Survivors include his wife, Debbie Bowman of the home; two sons, Alex Kirby Bowman and Zack Oren Bowman (Adrienne); and two grandsons, Leroy and Fisher Bowman.There will be a family gathering held at his home on Saturday, August 22, 2026 starting at 12:00 noon.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Catawba County, catawbahumane.org.Bass-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Bowman family.
