He was born in Durham to the late Wade Wesley Tilley and Elizabeth Annie Jeffries Tilley.A landscaper by trade, Johnny had a deep love for flowers and working outdoors. His passion for nature was evident in the gardens and landscapes that he tended. He also had a great love of Bald Eagles. He was happiest with a fishing rod in hand, enjoying the tranquility of the water, or cheering on his favorite drivers at NASCAR events and the Orange County Speedway. Johnny was a master at the grill, known for his homemade sauce.The beach held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the annual 4th of July trips to Emerald Isle, where he spent precious time with his loved ones. DURHAM ~ Danny Hugh Addison, 73, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at his home. He was born in Durham to the late William Hugh Addison and Julia Denson McDaniel. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Hugh Addison; brother, Bobby Griffin; sisters, Sandra Addison Haigler and Eleanor Griffin Deering.He retired from IBM after many years.Mr. Addison is survived by his wife, Carol Chatham Addison; grandchildren, Elliott Hugh Addison and Michael Deininger-Bell; sister, Linda (Rick) Langdon; brother-in-law, Bobby Chatham; nephew, Scott (Denise) Haigler. Katherine (“Kitty”) Gordon Harrison, who was inducted into the North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame in 2004 after her 22-year career coaching the UNC-Chapel Hill women’s tennis team, died March 27, 2026, at the Parkview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Chapel Hill. She was 91.Kitty was a remarkable woman who lived a life full of adventure and accomplishment. She was born Nov. 14, 1934, in Austin, TX, to Katherine Evelyn Boone Harrison and Thomas Perrin Harrison, their second child and only daughter. Kitty’s mother died in childbirth. Her father, an eminent professor of English at the University of Texas, placed her in the care of the Sisters of Charity at Seton Hospital where she stayed for a year before it was possible for her to return home to her father and brother Tommy, three years older.
