John Thomas Pate Sr., better known as “Jack,” age 74, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away on April 2, 2026, just days before his 75th birthday. He was born on April 7, 1951.Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Pate and Anne Stone Pate; his son, Breck Pate; and his grandson, Jaylon “Tra” Watson.He is survived by his wife, Denise Pate; his sister, Susan Pate (Chip); his children, Victoria Pate Moore (James), John Thomas Pate Jr. (Leigh Ann), and Vance Pate; and his grandchildren, Jaidah, Jaxhon, Jennah, Jameyah, Anna, Chloe, John Thomas Pate III, Jayonna, Vance Jr., and Lee Breckenridge Pate Jr. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Thayer, Britt, and Jaylon Jiana.Jack grew up in Rowland, North Carolina, and spent many of his childhood days in the Persimmon community while helping alongside his father on the farm.
