Larry Jay Perry, age 60, of McGrady, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 23, 1966, in Wilkes County to Acie and Nora Lee Brown Perry. Larry loved to travel, going to the beach, the mountains, shopping, giraffes, and dying his hair extravagant colors. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Perry.Those surviving are his brother, Garry Perry and spouse Frances of McGrady; his mother, Nora Lee Brown Perry; niece, Bethany Rigby and spouse Cory of North Wilkesboro; nephew, Justin Cid-Perry and spouse Luis of Winston Salem; great niece, Kinsley Odom of North Wilkesboro; and best friend, Jeremy Ross of Moravian Falls.No service will be held. Doris Wilds Searcy Berry 94 of Wilkesboro took her last earthly breath at home on August 14 2026 and began breathing in the sweet air of Heaven as she came face to face with her Lord and Savior. Born June 1 1932 to the late Earl Bright and Mae Bumgarner Searcy of Valdese NC. Doris was one of six children. Her love for children took her to Queens College now Queens University in Charlotte NC where she majored in Christian Education. This led her to North Wilkesboro where she was hired immediately upon graduation to open the first Kindergarten class at North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church in 1954. She also served as Director of Christian Education during some of her time there.
