YoungstownTheresa Terry Irene Hinote 79 peacefully gained her golden wings on Monday August 17 2026 after a lengthy illness surrounded by loved ones in her home where she lived with her oldest daughter Theresa Holmes in Youngstown since 2013. She was born on August 18 1946 in Youngstown. Terry was a 1965 graduate of East High School and had a variety of jobs during her life. She married James Jim Hinote in 1968 and traveled the world with him and their daughters before his retirement and moving to Youngstown in 1988. She loved game shows doing word search puzzles animals bingo and collecting nut crackers. Most of all Terry loved spending time with her loved ones extended family and her dogs Sergeant and Sassy who were ALWAYS on guard. Richard was born December 8 1925 in Youngstown the son of John and Marie Hendel. The Hendel family was part of Youngstowns Transylvanian Saxon community and they made their home on Meridian Road in Austintown. This neighborhood of Germanspeaking immigrants later included the Saxon Club. German was Richards first language he began learning English after starting school. Richard attended school at Austintown Fitch spending all 12 years in the original building. He participated in nearly every sport and also played clarinet in the school band. In the spring of 1944 Richard graduated from Fitch High School. From July 1944 to May 1946 Richard served in the United States Army during World War II. He saw combat duty in France Belgium and Germany. At the end of the war he was promoted to sergeant and assigned to the military police. Richard also served as a translator due to his fluency in…
