Sylvia Ann Collins 86 of Portsmouth passed away on Thursday May 14 2026 at Courtyard Assisted Living in Wheelersburg. She was born on November 30 1939 in Portsmouth a daughter of the late Evelyn Calloway Charles and Alto Lee Byrd. Sylvia graduated from Portsmouth High School retired after 29 years as a Surgical Technician at the former Mercy Hospital and retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation where she worked as a clerk for 20 years. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church serving in the Card Ministry as a Financial Assistant Kitchen Coordinator coordinator of the Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner and as an Usher until her health declined. Sylvia married Eugene Edward Collins Sr. on July 16 1960. They were married for 58 years before his passing on October 5 2018. David Leroy Stevenson 82 of Portsmouth passed away on Saturday May 16 2026 at Portsmouth Health and Rehab. Born August 12 1943 in Portsmouth he was the son of Rachel Leona Stevenson. A 1961 graduate of South Portsmouth High School David served two years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War including one year in Vietnam. In recognition of his service he received the National Defense Service Medal the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star. David attended Temple Baptist Church and retired from MJ Welding Co. in Lucasville. Surviving are his two daughters Dena Mark Taylor of West Portsmouth and Andrea C.J. Woods of Portsmouth and two grandchildren Kieran Woods and Gabriel Taylor. David was also preceded in death by two brothers Terry R. Stevenson Sr. and Michael Stevenson. Lloyd Allen Thackston 85 of Wheelersburg passed away on Saturday May 9 2026 at Concord Health Rehab in Wheelersburg. Allen was born at home on Sugar Tree Ridge Highland County Ohio a son of the late Anderson Walter and Ella Hord Walker Thackston. Allen graduated from White Oak High School in 1959 and worked as a car salesman in Wilmington. A lifelong car enthusiast he enjoyed attending car shows flea markets and watching people at flea markets. He and his family attended St. John Lutheran Church. Diana worked for Wings of Peace and PIDC in Portsmouth and she attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving is her brother Errol Lewis Fillmore of Garland TX and her best friend Yvette Jordan of Portsmouth. A Memorial Service will be held at Mt.
