Janice Leora Souder Shultz 89 of Benton died Thursday April 2 2026at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale PA. Born November 19 1936 in Bloomsburg she was a daughter of the lateCarl Opal Chamberlain Souder. Janice was a 1954 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and then graduated in 1958 from Bloomsburg State Teachers College. She taught elementaryschool at Berwick and Bloomsburg School Districts and later became asubstitute teacher for Berwick and Benton. Janice was a member of theBenton United Methodist Church and in her later years attended the Benton United Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and was especially talented with herneedlepoint embroidery. She was an avid reader and puzzler. Sheloved to watch all sports but especially enjoyed watching TennisPhillies Baseball and Eagles Football. She was very community mindedand generously gave time to the local food bank. William "Woody" Ertwine

William W. "Woody" Ertwine 75 of Benton Township died Thursday April 2 2026 at the Geisinger Medical Center Danville. Born July 27 1950 in Berwick he was a son of the late Warren A. Ertwine Sr. who died in 2000 and Izora Viola Hosler Ertwine who died in 2008. Woody was a graduate of Benton High School in 1968. He was a Benton Township Supervisor for 42 years and in his younger years was employed by the Berwick ACF as a welder for 15 years. He loved welding but especially cherished the time that he spent with his family and grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Surviving are his wife Alice Volanski Ertwine whom he married in 1968 a son Chris Ertwine and his wife Stacey of Benton his granddaughters Kalie Kelsey and Carissa Ertwine his siblings David C. Elizabeth “Betty” Wolford, 78, of Shickshinny, died Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.Born December 26, 1947 in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Helen (Bistrician) Randall.A graduate of Northwest High School, Class of 1965, she was the owner of Wolford’s Beauty, where she worked as a hairdresser for over 50 years.Mrs. Wolford was a member of Shickshinny Valley Church, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She volunteered as dispatch for the Shickshinny Fire Company for over 20 years, and played the role of Mrs. Claus at the fire company, as well as in schools and nursing homes.
