Sylvia J. Lewis, 85, formerly of Moosic and most recently a resident of St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning following an illness. She is the widow of Donald J. Lewis Sr. who passed away December 1, 2017.Born July 11, 1940 in Taylor, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Jean (Talinski) Tomczyk. Prior to her retirement, Sylvia was employed by the Riverside School District.She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish in Scranton.Surviving are her children Linda Mitchell of Moosic, Kenneth Lewis and wife Yvonne of Dillwyn VA, Elaine Shillabeer, and husband Harry of Bear Creek Twp., Donald J. Lewis Jr. and wife Lisa of Scranton, William Lewis Sr. and wife Janet of Taylor, and Melissa Karaliunas and husband Martin of Covington Twp. Carolyn A. Petitto 84 of Dunmore passed away peacefully on February 13 2026 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton surrounded by her loving family. Born in Scranton on November 30 1941 Carolyn was the daughter of the late Sam and Mary Sheridan Costa. She was a proud graduate of Scranton Technical High School and dedicated many years of service as the frontend manager at Price Chopper in Dunmore until her retirement in 2007. Carolyn was an avid bowler in the Dunmore Ladies League and cherished the many friendships she made through the years. She enjoyed her daily coffee treasured her girls trips to Lake Ontario and found her greatest joy in spending time with her familyespecially her grandchildren and greatgranddaughter who were the light of her life.
