We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of a beautiful woman loving mother and dear friend. Mrs. Mary Komnath Feher 97 formerly of Georgetown and Parsons most recently a resident of Allied Services Center City independent living apartments fell asleep in the Lord late Saturday evening as an emergency patient of the WilkesBarre General Hospital. Born on Tuesday September 18 1928 in the family homestead in Georgetown she was one of thirteen children to the late George and Helen Esack Komnath. Educated in the Township schools she was a graduate of the former WilkesBarre Township High School. After meeting and marrying her beloved husband the family sought employment in New Jersey. Mrs. Feher previously worked in telephone manufacturing for the Western Electric Company in Kearny New Jersey. Gary Frank Fudge of Sugarloaf passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon August 1 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hazleton on August 5 1959 Gary was the son of the late Frank and Cecelia "Pinky" Fudge. From an early age he embodied the values that would define his life hard work humility and an unwavering commitment to providing for those he loved. Garys work ethic was exemplary. His career began in his teenage years at Grossmans a local hardware store that taught him construction fundamentals that he would use for the rest of his life. In later years he went on to become a Data Architect with Air Products where he dedicated many years of service before retiring in 2025. Sarah Louise Brodeur 64 of Sugarloaf joined her loved ones in heaven on Wednesday August 5 2026 following her courageous threeyear battle with cancer and 20 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Boston MA March 17 1962 she was the daughter of the late Ralph Raymond Rumer and Shirley Louise Haynes Rumer. She spent most of her growing up years in Buffalo NY and spent the past 30 years in her home in Sugarloaf PA. Sarah graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Amherst NY in 1980 and received her advanced degree from Erie Community College in NY. She was employed as a Medical Laboratory Technologist for Miners Memorial Hospital in Coaldale PA and was a member of Black Creek United Methodist Church Sugarloaf. In her younger years she enjoyed downhill skiing riding her horse Star playing golf and spending summers at Seven Hills Girl Scout Camp with her sisters.…

Edward Louis Vergari of Sugarloaf passed away late Tuesday evening at his home surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous and lengthy health battle. Edward Ed was born in Wilkes Barre on August 25 1947 to Edward Luigi Vergari and Mary Bruno. Growing up in a closeknit Italian community in Forty Fort he matured into a social and stellar student who briefly attended Michigan State University for Nuclear Engineering before desiring to return back closer to home to be nearer to family. This desire to remain in NEPA was paramount to his thinking. He then graduated from Kings College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1969 and furthered his knowledge by garnering the prestigious Charter Financial Analyst CFA designation in 1978. Born in Kingston on March 20 1958 she was the daughter of the late Jack and Irene Martin Murphy. Marybeth was a graduate of Bishop Hoban High School and later worked as a secretary for Luzerne Bank. She was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Church Larksville. Marybeth enjoyed crossword puzzles coloring in coloring books watching British television and most of all spending time with her beloved husband. She is survived by her loving husband of over 45 years Albert Mattey sisterinlaw Linda Shovlin and her husband John as well as cousins and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 22 2026 at 1000 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church Larksville. Friends and family are welcome to attend a visitation from 900 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at St. Anthonys Cemetery Courtdale.
