It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward John Giebel who died on May 15 2026 at the age of 80. Ed was admired and respected by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be remembered for his quick wit warm sense of humor and remarkable ability to fix just about anything. Always up for an adventure he found great joy spending time on his boat and tending to his garden. He also loved model airplanes drones and any new gadget or toy he could get his hands on. He was the person family friends and neighbors could always rely on steady kind and endlessly resourceful. Born in Pittsburgh Ed raised his family in Gibsonia Pennsylvania before enjoying retirement in Kennerdell Pennsylvania and North Hutchinson Island Florida. She was currently employed by Bayada Health services had worked for over 20 years at the Presbyterian Home and had been a bartendermanager at the Pulaski Club for many years where she was a lifetime member. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Debbie Long and lifelong partner Edward M. Wright. William C. “Cody” Smith, 78, of Oil City, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026 at The Collins House after a lingering illness.Born on July 28, 1947, in Oil City, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Mary Kay (Seth) Smith.Cody was a 1965 graduate of Oil City High School. After graduation, he attended the New Castle Business College. He graduated from there in 1967 with an associates degree in accounting in business administration.A very hardworking man, Cody held many jobs over the years. He was employed by Sears for nearly 30 years, the Box Factory, Vo-Tech, as well as the Park Ave. Greenhouse in the summers.Cody’s biggest passion came from coaching children in Franklin little league baseball and junior bowlers at Seneca Lanes.
