Daniel Ashton Lyles 93 husband of Dorothy Dotty Mathis Lyles died Thursday July 2 2026 at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia. Born October 12 1932 in Sumter he was a son of the late Clifford Leroy Lyles and the late Agnes Claire Stokes Lyles. Mr. Lyles was a member of First Baptist Church Sumter and a past member of Grace Baptist Church. He graduated from Edmunds High School in 1951. He worked with Western Auto before joining City Supply Company as an outside salesman. His territory included South Carolina North Carolina and Georgia where he established many loyal customers and friendships. He served as Vice President of City Supply Company until 1997 when the Company was purchased by Ferguson Waterworks. He continued with Ferguson as a training executive for two more years. Mr. Lyles was an avid fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and longtime member of the Gamecock Club.…

Karen Lacey Barnhill Goff 78 widow of George Paul G.P. Goff Sr. died Thursday July 2 2026 at NHC HealthcareSumter. Born July 17 1947 in Fairmont NC she was a daughter of the late Lacy Ray Barnhill and the late Anita Ivey Barnhill. Mrs. Goff was a member of Wedgefield Baptist Church. She worked as a secretary for Piggly Wiggly Stores in Sumter for more than twenty years. Survivors include two children Pastor George Paul Goff Jr. Sharon and Rhonda Goff Eubanks Mike ten grandchildren sixteen greatgrandchildren three brothers Donnie Barnhill Pat Lacy Ray Barnhill Kim and Danny Barnhill Janet two sisters Linda McCaskill John and Diane Ray and a number of nieces and nephews.
