Nelson Cook Simonson passed away on March 27 2026 at the age of 72. Nelson was preceded in death by his father Nelson Conrad Simonson. He is survived by his wife Janet Struble Simonson daughters Denise Provencher and Kim Clatterbuck his mother Caroline Davis Simonson his siblings Fern Shirley Roy and Thomas. Nelson leaves behind five grandchildren several nieces nephews cousins and many friends. Nelson graduated from George C. Marshall High School in Falls Church Virginia. He subsequently enlisted in the Army where he learned Russian Technical Translating. He became fluent in German while serving overseas. Nelson attended The Pennsylvania State University where his academic journey included several semesters of study in Germany.
