Eddie Grant Shelton age 75 of Unicoi went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Tuesday March 31 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and son of the late Worley Shelton and Pearl Howell Shelton Edney. After Eddie graduated from Unicoi County High School he enlisted in the Army. He was a United States Army Veteran who served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Eddie was awarded a National Defense Service Medal Bronze Star Medal Meritorious Unit Citation Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars Expert Rifle Medal and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Eddie earned his BS Degreen in Business Administration from ETSU. He retired as Yardmaster from CSX Transportation after thirtytwo years of service. Trula Bell Shorter Casey age 86 of Unicoi passed away peacefully on Saturday March 28. 2026 at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and daughter of the late Cecil Shorter and Doris Lockner Shorter. Trula was a former employee of Jones and Church Farms where she graded tomatoes for many years. She attended Unaka Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Trula loved growing flowers and working in her flower garden she was especially proud of her Angel Trumpet flowers. She liked roosters Dolly Parton and shopping at Hamricks. Trula enjoyed traveling to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. She had a generous heart and took great pleasure in giving to others. Trula loved her family dearly and she took great care of all of them.
