James "Pop" Perry aged 90 of Buffalo Texas passed away on Tuesday February 10 2026 surrounded by family and loved ones. Pop was born into a farming family of August 3rd 1935 in Cherokee County Texas but left to work in the oil field when he was a teenager. Fishing hunting and gardening were some of his favorite ways to spend his day and he was constantly on the move if not watching old cowboy shows. He was quick with a smile on his face for a loved one or stranger and would lend a hand to anyone in need. He will be dearly missed and remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his parents Elijah Earl and Ima Grace Foster Perry Floy Alline Hill brothers Troy Thomas Charles Bennie "Blue" Fred "Dick" J.L.
