Dad was born Robert Ellwood Chapman, on January 24, 1946, in Esmond, Rhode Island.In 1953, he relocated to California with his father, Ellwood Chester Chapman, stepmother, Kathryn Mae Chapman (Floyd) and brother, Dennis Chapman. In 1958, he and his family moved to Saudi Arabia where he attended St. Joseph’s School in Dhahran, before residing in Ethiopia.He returned to California and graduated from West High School in Florence California, in 1964. He attended Trinidad State College, in Trinidad, Colorado, where he received his bachelor’s degree in electronics.After, he moved back to Esmond, Rhode Island, where he worked at Mine Safety, and met Alicja Chapman (Trybalski). Dad married Mom on April 24, 1971, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and established a home in New Hampshire.
