Jack Ray Gordon entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, bringing to a close a life well lived and defined by faith, family, friendship, and service.Jack was born on August 16, 1936, at Portsmouth General Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia, the fourth child of Edward and Margaret Gordon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margaret Gordon; his brother, Edward Gordon Jr.; and his sisters, Doris Angel and Margaret Edmonds.He grew up in Portsmouth, where he graduated from Cradock High School in 1954. During his high school years, Jack was active in the Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) at Cradock Methodist Church and achieved the rank of Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.After graduation, Jack completed a four-year Electronics Apprenticeship at Norfolk Naval Shipyard while simultaneously completing his freshman year through the William & Mary/Virginia Polytechnic Institute…
