Verna Louise Evans 86 of Salem WV passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 1 2026 at Clarksburg Healthcare Center. She was born on September 30 1939 in Salem a daughter of the late Lester Ira and Thelma Virginia Edgel Thompson. In addition to her parents Verna was preceded in death by the love of her life her husband William Bill Roger Evans whom she married on April 19 1959 and with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Verna was a woman of quiet strength deep love and unwavering dedication to her family. She spent many years working at the Judel Glass Factory and later devoted 15 years of faithful service as a custodian at Salem United Methodist Church.
