Goodwin 85 of Buckhannon West Virginia passed away peacefully at his home onMay 122026surrounded by family.Wayne was born on July 10 1940 in Buckhannon West Virginia to Helen Goodwin Ratliff Jones. He was lovingly raised by his grandparents William Wilber Goodwin and Martha Miller Goodwin who played a significant role in shaping the man he became.On September 29 1962 Wayne married the love of his life Betty Mae Baughman Goodwin. Together they built a strong and loving family. They were blessed with five children Rickie Goodwin Lavonnia Simons Helen Demastes Richard John Goodwin and Kimberly Goodwin Ford Jerry Ford. They also had a sonWilbert DavidGoodwin who passed away just a few hours after his birth.Wayne and Betty also opened theirhomeand hearts as foster parents for many years. Stories food and plenty of Diet Coke will be shared just as he would have wanted. probably remember his special chairs. Every place he spent more than five minutes he claimed one specific seat as if by divine right. The kitchen table chair no one else dared sit in at mealtime. The wellworn recliner in the living room angled just right. And perhaps most famously a particular spot in the St. Josephs Hospital cafeteria where even the nuns who were his bosses learned to scoot when he walked in. His chairs werent just places to sit. She graduated from Phillip Barbour High School and continued her education at Fairmont State accomplishments that laid the foundation for a life dedicated to helping others. Carolyn was known for her love of riding motorcycles alongside her late partner Norman and for her unwavering commitment to aiding others in their journey to sobriety. Her generosity and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she did not subscribe to formal religious practices her life was guided by Christian principles which she embodied in her daily interactions.
