Gary Lewis “Hunkle” Elkins, 70, of East Lynn, WV passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV with Pastor Paul Michael Booth officiating. Burial will follow in the Elkins Family Cemetery, East Lynn. He was born June 7, 1955 at Huntington, WV, a son of the late Walter and Helen Raye Dickerson Elkins. Hunkle retired as a machinist with Queen’s Machine Shop. He is survived by three sons, Nicholas Eli Elkins (Haley) of East Lynn, WV, James Gary “Jamie” Elkins of Wayne, WV, and James Thomas “Tommy” Elkins of East Lynn, WV; a sister, Brenda Stephens (Roger) of Wayne, WV; a brother, Jerry Elkins of East Lynn, WV; four grandchildren, Caiden Michael Saguansin, Eli Lee Elkins, Emma Grace Elkins, and Harper Rae Elkins; and several friends too numerous to mention.…
