Michael Stephen Wheeler, 74, of Lavalette, WV passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at his home. He was born November 14, 1951 at Charleston, WV. Michael retired as a firefighter and paramedic with the Charleston Fire Department. He was a Vietnam veteran where he served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of the International Association of Firefighters. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Renee Wheeler of Lavalette; two daughters, Jessica Wheeler of Las Vegas, NV, and Jennifer Pridemore (Justin) of Lavalette; a brother, David Wheeler of Charleston, WV; and four grandchildren, Natalie Wheeler, Elyse Pridemore, Asher Pridemore, and Deacon Pridemore. At Michael’s request, there will be no funeral services. Morris Funeral Home, Wayne is assisting the family with arrangements.

MARK ALAN MILLS 65 of Lavalette W.Va. was welcomed to heaven on Sunday March 29 2026. He was born August 6 1960 in Huntington W.Va. a son of the late Ronald and Geraldine Mills. Mark is survived by his wife of almost 36 years and the love of his life Dianna and one brother James Brian Mills of Huntington. He was a proud veteran honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1987 and retired from Marshall University Plant Operations as custodian in 2009. Mark always encouraged his wifes faith and made his own commitment to God and was baptized before his last days. He loved the Laurel Freewill Baptist Church family for their prayers and support. The family is also in appreciation to Hospice of Huntington and the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
