George Edward Adkins, 101 of Wayne, WV, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 14, 2026 at his daughter’s residence in Columbus, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2026 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Larry Carrico. Burial will follow at Mose Asbury Cemetery, East Lynn, WV. He was born January 30, 1925 on Beech Fork, a son of the late Strother and Blanche Toney Adkins. George was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a member of Booten-Millers Fork United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Elkins Adkins, along with fourteen siblings. George was an accomplished pianist and shared his love for gospel music by playing and singing for many churches in the community. He also enjoyed fox hunting and being outdoors.
