Virginia “Ginny” Ann Josifek Metzdorf, 83 of Hazelhurst, WI died peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026.Ginny was born on March 15, 1942, the daughter of Jaroslav (Jerry) and Lucille (Buske) Josifek in Cadott, Wisconsin. She grew up on her family’s farm and lived there until the fall of 1960 when she left for college at Wisconsin State College-Eau Claire (now UW-Eau Claire). Following graduation with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Ginny followed her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher and began her career teaching history and English at Chippewa Falls High School (Chi-Hi). She married her college sweetheart, Dennis Metzdorf, and although the marriage didn’t last, they remained friends.After several years of teaching, Ginny returned to college to further her education and went on to earn a Master’s Degree and then a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Following graduation, Ginny accepted administrative positions at Hayward…
