Irma Edna Leora Schoenike, 98, of Watertown entered into the nearer presence of Christ on May 14, 2026, at Park Ridge.Irma was born a few minutes before her twin sister Norma, on June 17, 1927, at the family home in Lebanon. She loved to tell the story about the doctor announcing: “It’s a girl, and there is another baby on the way.” No one was aware that her mother was carrying twins. While Norma (her twin sister) was always the dominant one, after Norma’s death on July 23, 2003, Irma developed an inner strength and take-charge attitude that amazed everyone.She was the daughter of Emil and Anna (nee Krueger) Schoenike, reared in a three-generation household with her siblings, parents and grandparents. John worked at Green Giant and did farm work. He also worked for Reese Industries and later worked at U.S. Chemicals, and also did seasonal work for Aunt Nellies.John was happiest when riding his bicycle or tending to his animals. He held a particular affection for his friend the goat and took great pride in caring for his gray-and-white and calico cats, finding fulfillment in the simple act of looking after his animal companions.John loved the craft of building, but he loved helping people even more.
