Edward L. Nachtigal, Jr., age 89 of Blue River, died August 17, 2026 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on March 7, 1937, the son of Edward Nachtigal, Sr. and Esther (Wallace) Nachtigal. He graduated from Gays Mills High School, and then went into the Navy soon thereafter. One day on shore leave in Kenosha with a friend, Edward happened to see a beautiful woman across the street. He looked over at his friend and said, “I’m going to marry that woman!” And so he did. On April 11, 1959, he married the love of his life, Patricia Kwicinski, daughter of John and Sophie (Lapcewich) Kwicinski of Kenosha. Edward was stationed at San Francisco on the aircraft carrier Midway when their first child was born, Steven, on January 29, 1960. He was born on December 25 1942on a Homer Ridge farm son of the late Irven and Dorothy Williams Wagner.Jimgraduated from Boscobel High School in 1961 and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Navyuntil 1965. When he returned home he met the love of his life Donna Roghers. They were married August 201966. They made Boscobel their home for the next 45 years until Donnas passing in 2011. Jim was a lifelong sports fan. His love of sports started in high school and carried into his love for the Green Bay Packers. He loved cheering them on almost as much as he loved yelling at them.
