Gayle I. Bruegmann age 89 of Steuben passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday May 10 2026. Gayle was born on November 10 1936 in Chicago Illinois the daughter of the late George and Bernice Gore Kay. On September 9 1961 she was united in marriage to Dale Bruegmann. Together they shared 57 years of marriage filled with love partnership and countless cherished memories. Gayle worked for many years with the Illinois Central Railroad while continuing her education at Thornton Junior College. Though proud of her career and accomplishments she found her greatest joy in being a homemaker and raising her family whom she loved deeply and devoted herself to wholeheartedly. A woman of strength and independence Gayle enjoyed staying active throughout her life. She had a passion for gardening crafting photography Broadway Musicals camping and fishing.
