It is with sad hearts that we share the passing of our mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin, Ruth Maurine Kielley. She passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Riverside Transitional Care Center where she resided for the past year.Ruth was born the youngest of 3 girls to Lee Mountain Hillis and Ruby Pettit on November 17, 1927 in Dubuque, Iowa. Music called her early in life, piano, violin, and vocal. The French horn and organ soon followed. She attended the University of Dubuque on a musical scholarship. While attending the University she met Kern Kielley and they married on August 2, 1947. They transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where they both graduated in 1949. After graduation they moved to Three Lakes, WI, where Ruth taught music. They next moved to Mount Horeb where she taught vocal music. A move to Wisconsin Dells soon followed.
