James Keyton a veteran truck driver of four decades and a devoted man of God entered into eternal rest on May 9 2026. A man whose heart belonged to the highway and whose soul belonged to his faith. James Keyton the beloved Head Deacon of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church and a cornerstone of the trucking community was born on June 28 1947 to the late Mr. Mrs. John L. Keyton in Newville Alabama. He joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Abbeville Alabama at an early age and later became a member of Sardis Baptist Church in Bay Springs AL. There he served as Head Deacon and a very active worker in the church. James graduated from Henry County Training School in 1965. Fred Peterman was born on July 18 1943 in Abbeville Alabama to the late Judge Peterman and Ethel Culver Peterman in Abbeville Alabama. Fred was united in holy matrimony to Francis Louise Peterman of Murfreesboro North Carolina. Together they built a beautiful life and shared 49 years of marriage. Their union was blessed with two beautiful daughters Jasmine Peterman of Greensboro North Carolina and the late Kelly Mason of New Jersey. He was a proud grandfather to Taysean Cartwright Rashad Williams and Brooklyn Williams all of Greensboro North Carolina. Fred attended school in Henry County and later studied at Essex County College in New Jersey. He dedicated 43 years of service to General Motors in Linden New Jersey retiring in 2001. With profound love and heartfelt remembrance we celebrate the life of Ethel Yudora Archie who peacefully transitioned on May 6 2026 surrounded by the love and devotion of her husband Clifton M. Archie. Born September 22 1957 she was the cherished daughter of the late John Lemon and Ella Marie Byrd and the beloved granddaughter of the late Adolphus and Daisy Agee. She was also preceded in death by her loving sisters Barbara Carter and Abbie James Davis and by her precious grandson JaKobie Byrd whom she adored. Ethel will be remembered for the deep love and devotion she shared with her family friends and all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy lives on through her devoted husband Clifton M.
