He was born in County Down, Northern Ireland on February 11, 1932 to John and Ellen Spiers and was the beloved husband to his late wife Patsy Spiers for 56 years. Seán was a devoted father of Brian (deceased) (Debi), Michael (Jack), John (Bernadette), Stephen (Peter), and Daniel (Máire), and loving grandfather of Colleen (Temo), Shannon (Chris), Erin (Joey), Sean, Katherine, Ryan, Nora, Ellen, Martin, and the late Theresa and great grandfather of Tommy, Will, Sophie, Maggie and Lucy. Seán was pre-deceased by his siblings Brian, Liam (Eileen), Dan (Mary), Vincent (Elizabeth), Imelda (Eamon Lundy) and James.
