Ronald D. Thomas, 78 of Winchester passed away Tuesday August 18, 2026 at his home. He was born September 11, 1947 in White Hall the son of Chester and Glenna Sparks Thomas. He married Mary Costello December 23, 1967. They later divorced but remained close friends. Ron was a 1965 graduate of Winchester High School. He then entered the US Navy serving at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Virginia and was part of the Manned Spacecraft Recovery Atlantic. He worked as a Partsman for International Harvester and Case IH dealers in Winchester, Auburn, Taylorville and Greenfield. He then worked for Pike Feeds and Henry’s Service Center. Ron was a member of the American Legion and ABATE. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, gardening, raising sheep, rabbits and chickens. Kami Deanne Retherford, age 47 of Carrollton passed away Monday, August 17, 2026 at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton. She was born May 22, 1979 in Jerseyville, the daughter of Gary Retherford and Debra Pegram Retherford.She is survived by her daughter, Payton Sidwell of Carrollton, her mother, Debra Retherford of Carrollton, two sisters, Angie (Brad) Costello of White Hall, Kara (Patrick Callahan) Retherford of Steelville, MO, two brothers, Zeb (Virginia Wittmore) Retherford of Carrollton, Jacob (Emily McCarry) Retherford of Carrollton, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, maternal grandparents, Clinton and Alice Pegram, paternal grandparents, Bill and Louise Retherford, and Payton’s father, Clay Sidwell.She was the best mother she could be to Payton.
