Thomas David Jones, 76, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, NC.He was born September 20, 1949 in Rowan County to the late Donald and Daphnie Earnhardt Jones. Thomas dedicated 30 years of service to Carter Electric and an additional 10 years to Desco. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Thomas found great joy in being at Carolina Beach and was an avid fan of Elvis.Thomas is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Jerry) Miller of Granite Quarry; son, Thomas "TJ" David (Brandi) Jones Jr. of Salisbury; grandsons, Aidan Reamon and Lennon Rogers; and brother, Ricky Ardell Jones.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 9, 2026, in the Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC.Burial will follow in the Salisbury National Cemetery.Powles Staton Funeral Home of Rockwell, honored provider of…

James L. Jim Blackwood 70 a cherished loving husband devoted father friend and beloved member of the Salisbury community passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 24 2026 at Novant Hospital with his beloved wife Deb by his side. Born in Fountain Hill Jim was the son of the late John Jr and Jeanette Laubach Blackwood. Jims journey through life was marked by service dedication and a deep love for his family and community. He graduated from Southern Lehigh High School where he excelled not only academically but also on the football field. Following his graduation Jim joined the Navy in 1973 and later pursued his engineering degree at LCCC. His Steadfast dedication led him to a successful career initially at Curtiss Wright in NJ before relocating to NC in 2012.
