Youngstown Dr. Frank J. Tarantine 91 passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday June 30 2026. He was born in Youngstown Ohio on May 27 1935 to the late Henry and Ann Sylvester Tarantine. Frank grew up in Brier Hill attended St. Ann Church and graduated from Ursuline High School in 1953. From a young age Frank had a remarkable work ethic taking a job at Commercial Shearing Inc. after graduating high school to pay his way through college. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Youngstown State University in 1957 followed by a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Akron in 1961. He completed his education in 1966 with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Born on October 31 1948 in Youngstown he was the cherished son of the late Margaret and Antonio Manfredi. Joseph spent 38 dedicated years working at Delphi Packard Electric where he was known for his reliable work ethic and commitment to his craft. Beyond his professional life Joseph was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served his country with honor and dignity. More than anything else Joseph cherished his role as "Papa." His greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family particularly his grandchildren Margaux and Miles Malloy. His love and devotion to them will be remembered fondly.
